About Us

Established in July 2016, the Love Newmarket Business Improvement District (BID) aims to be an inventive and progressive organisation run for local businesses by local businesses. The Love Newmarket BID covers a defined area of the popular market town where the team works to improve the trading environment and identifies additional projects and services that develop the town centre. Love Newmarket BID enhances and promotes the local environment for its businesses, employees, customers and the community.

Love Newmarket BID will raise £1.2m over its five year term through an annual levy based on the rateable value of business premises over £3,000 within the BID area.

The overarching vision of Love Newmarket BID is to make a clear positive impact on the vitality of our town centre and the success of the businesses within it. The BID’s objectives are split into the below work strands.

Love Newmarket BID covers virtually the entire town centre and represents approximately 350 levy payers including well-known brands and organisations in the retail, leisure, hospitality and public sectors.

We are an independent, not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. All the projects and services we deliver are additional to – not in place of – those already provided by West Suffolk Council (Forest Heath District Council) and Newmarket Town Council.
