As the Legal Secretary, you will be:

  • Familiarity with legal terminology and processes (desirable)

We’re partnering with a values-led organisation to appoint an experienced Property & Maintenance Manager to take ownership of Health & Safety compliance, contractor performance, and the long-term condition of a diverse residential portfolio.

This is a role for someone who enjoys real accountability ensuring properties are safe, compliant, well-maintained, and future-ready while also playing a key role in shaping sustainability.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership, influence strategic decisions, and see the direct impact of your work on residents and communities.

As the Property & Maintenance Manager you will be:

Leading Health & Safety & Compliance

  • Taking full responsibility for delivering 100% Health & Safety compliance across the portfolio.
  • Managing statutory and non-statutory compliance, contractor controls, and robust documentation and monitoring processes.
  • Acting as a trusted technical partner to senior leadership on all H&S and property matters.

Managing Contracts & Value for Money

  • Specifying, tendering, and procuring maintenance and servicing contracts in line with procurement policy.
  • Managing frameworks and service agreements to ensure quality, compliance, and strong value for money.
  • Verifying completed works, variations, and invoices to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Ensuring effective out-of-hours and emergency repair arrangements are always in place.

Overseeing Property Condition & Asset Performance

  • Inspecting properties to assess condition, maintenance needs, and design standards.
  • Identifying planned works, improvement programmes, handovers, and defect sign-offs.
  • Supporting development, acquisition, and disposal activity with technical inspections and defect management.

Driving Service Improvement

  • Investigating and resolving maintenance-related complaints.
  • Turning lessons learned into practical service improvements that raise standards and resident satisfaction.

Shaping Sustainability & Decarbonisation

  • Helping to shape and deliver the organisation’s decarbonisation strategy across homes, blocks, and estates.
  • Identifying funding opportunities and supporting the delivery of energy efficiency and carbon reduction initiatives.
