An Aladdin’s Cave of haberdashery treats and delights rests a stone throw from Newmarket’s high street. Bobb-In Haberdashery is located on New Cut Wellington Street, offering hobbyists and experts alike endless shelves of sewing accessories.

Open for 17 years, owner Lorraine moved from a world of caring, bar work and shop work to open her dream outlet, filling it with threads, ribbons, buttons, wool and everything in between.

“I’m proud to have all sorts of people visit over the years,” explained Lorraine. “I’ve been able to source items that we haven’t got in the shop, and even post things out if you live to far afield.

“I’ve got a regular who lives in Spain and I’ve been able to post out to her.”

With a varied customer base that travels from all over the East, the store offers a vast display of items, including: flowers, singles and bunches, elastic bands (cuff and waist), bra wires, knit pins, crochet hooks, circular pins, lace, faux fur, faux leather, materials, netting, curtain tapes and hooks, shoulder pads, cross stitch accessories, webbing, threads, fabric glues, upholstery pins, beads, cords, ribbons of all colours and sizes, yarns, dyes and buttons… the list really does go on!
