Premier Travel Launches Children's Easter Egg Appeal
Premier Travel has launched its annual campaign collecting Easter eggs for children in the care of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
Premier Travel is collecting the chocolate eggs in the lead up to Easter for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH). Staff are asking customers and members of the community to drop Easter eggs or other chocolate gifts into the branch in The Guineas Shopping Centre.
These will be passed onto EACH in time for Easter. Premier Travel has also made East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices their charity of the year so all company fundraising will be dedicated to the cause for 2020.
Elaine Carr, Newmarket branch manager, said: “Every year our local community pulls together and makes our Easter egg appeal a success and we are hoping this year is more successful than ever.
“East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice provides support and care for children with life-threatening conditions and we hope a chocolate Easter treat would help raise a smile.
“If you are able to donate an Easter egg or treat – no matter how big or small – it will be gratefully appreciated.”

Premier Travel Celebrates Successful Month
Premier Travel is celebrating after starting 2020 with one of its most successful sales periods.
The firm, which has a branch in The Guineas Shopping Centre, has seen a 25% increase in retail sales year-on-year across its 23 branches, yet in Newmarket, there was a 31% year-on-year increase.
The company believes this rise is due to many factors including the costs of holidays falling in many destinations and clients wanting the help and expertise of a travel agent they can trust in case issues arise following the huge changes in the travel industry last year in the collapse of Thomas Cook.
Premier Travel has also seen more customers using their out of hours local call centre to confirm holidays as well as more people making contact over the phone and email to get quotes.
Premier Travel opened three new branches last year in new areas – Mildenhall, Sudbury and Braintree.
Paul Waters, Director of Premier Travel, said: “We are thrilled to have had such a positive start to 2020. Branches have been very busy and customers are still wanting to get booked early to secure their holiday.
“Customers return to us because they recognise our staff and their expertise and know that they will go above and beyond to make sure they have a holiday to remember but also to take control should things go wrong.
“This year, we have continued to see people wanting to have experiences on their holidays over simply relaxing on a beach and coming into a branch to get those ideas is invaluable.
“With even more travel options coming to our local airports we hope this success will continue through the year.”
Premier Travel Launches Christmas Appeal
Premier Travel in Newmarket has launched their annual Christmas toy appeal to help ensure children in care receive a gift this Christmas.
Staff are appealing for donations of new toys or gifts for the Santa’s Sack campaign, which aims to make Christmas special for children who are less fortunate in the local community.
Presents donated to Santa’s Sack will be taken to the local foster services team and delivered to children in local care facilities in time for Christmas Day.
The branches are seeking donations suitable for babies and any age children up to 16.
Elaine Carr, branch manager, said: “Christmas is a time for giving and the Santa’s Sack appeal means those who may not otherwise receive a gift have something special for Christmas Day.
“If you’re out Christmas shopping in Newmarket, please consider buying an extra gift to put a smile on a child’s face.
“Our appeal goes from strength to strength each year and we are hoping it grows again for 2019. All donations, no matter how big or small, are most welcome.”
Customers can pop into branch, in The Guineas shopping centre, to make a donation until 7 December.

Premier Travel Welcome New Staff
Premier Travel has welcomed new travel experts to their Newmarket store after employing two people who lost their jobs in the collapse of Thomas Cook.
Alexis Gordon and Carly Lee will be joining the Premier Travel branch in The Guineas Shopping Centre from this week.
The agents, who have 35 years of experience, will be working almost directly opposite their old store so are looking forward to returning to normality.
Alexis said: “We were both totally devastated to hear the news about Thomas Cook. We had friends who worked at Premier and helped in telling us there were vacancies. Within the week, we both had new jobs which was a massive relief.
“We are looking forward to getting back to business and helping all of our customers book their holidays as usual.”
Paul Waters, Director of Premier Travel, said: “The travel industry is extremely close knit so we were devastated to hear the news of Thomas Cook.
“Premier Travel wanted to help in any way we could so fast-tracked interviews for staff who had lost their jobs. We are really pleased to have been able to welcome lots of new faces to our branches so far and back into a job they love.”
