Singing In The Rain

Thank you to the hundreds of you who ventured out into the streets of Newmarket last week to join us in celebrating the start of the Christmas season. Our Making Magical Memories returned for another year, bringing with it our lights switch on event and performances by singer Ray Quinn.

A fantastic event enjoyed by all, the high street transformed to a family funfair with rides for the little ones, stalls from a few local businesses and a stage welcoming the afternoon’s entertainment.

We saw local singer Adam Thomas take to the stage, alongside Frankenstein’s Lobster and a performance from Brookes Cambridge School, before the grand finale welcomed Ray Quinn to push the button alongside the Love Newmarket BID Manager, Paul Brown and Mayor Rachel Hood.

Commenting on the evening, Paul Brown said: “Despite the weather it was a wonderful night with a great turnout. Ray Quinn was fantastic and everyone had a great time. I’d like to thank our sponsors and all those who worked so hard on the night to make the event so memorable. The Christmas light switch on is just one example of the great work Love Newmarket BID does throughout the year to improve and support our town centre and members.”

Supported by Newmarket Motorcycle Company, Juddmonte, Tattersalls, Newmarket Journal and Newmarket Racecourses, the event would not have been possible without them. Please keep an eye out for news of next year’s events coming soon.
