Celebrating The Armed Forces – Saturday 15th June
10am – 5pm, Newmarket Town Centre
Join us as we celebrate the armed forces and emergency services on Saturday 15th June 2019. Events will be taking place across the town between 10am – 5pm, with a display from The Spectacular Red Arrow Hawk taking centre stage upon the Bill Tutte Memorial, at the top of the High Street.
The Hawk offers an opportunity for guests (of all ages!) to sit inside the cockpit, and experience the beauty of the replica aircraft. If there ever was an event designed for our younger aeroplane fans… this is it!
Be sure to visit The Guineas Shopping Centre and Rutland Hill, where we will be welcoming a collection of military items and artefacts, including an Austin 7 motor car, a Mustang aeroplane cockpit for all to try out and original RAF Bottisham deck chairs that the pilots sat in to be briefed about Dunkirk and the bombing raids over Germany, making them over 70 years old.
The town will also host representatives from several Armed Forces branches with some exciting games and activities taking place across the day. Further displays will be on offer throughout the town, so be sure to keep an eye on our social channels as we reveal more locations in the lead up to the event.
Raising money on behalf of The Royal British Legion, this event provides a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the men and women who have and are serving their country, both through Armed Forces and the emergency services. We hope you enjoy it with all the family.
